Renew Counselling

We’ve been empowering people in Essex for over 120 years. We are all about supporting people to grow and develop, whether we’re delivering training sessions or providing high-quality counselling. Our services wouldn’t be possible without the funding that we receive; from client contributions to local authorities and fundraising activities. Thanks to this funding, we are able to provide a number of subsidised counselling places. Our people work in a range of roles, supporting people in Basildon, Chelmsford, Brentwood and across Essex.

Further info

  • We offer a service that rivals an expensive private practice, but at an affordable price. Our sessions cost us around £50 to deliver but, in many cases, we can subsidise this.  We calculate the client’s contribution toward the session based on what they can comfortably afford. This will be discussed upon referral.
  • There may be additional projects available that further reduce your fee or fully fund your sessions. For example, any young person aged 11-18 and registered with a Basildon or Brentwood GP will be offered up to 24 fully funded sessions, and any primary school-aged child registered with a Basildon or Brentwood GP will be offered up to 12 fully funded sessions.
  • We’re proud to run a multi-layered, high-quality and far-reaching counselling service, supported by a group of dedicated professionals that specialise in everything from counselling adults, young people and children to delivering training and supervision.
  • We also provide counselling and other services in schools across Essex, including supervision and training for staff.

Counselling bursaries available (July 2025) - Renew Counselling is offering a limited number of bursary-funded counselling places for people who are finding life difficult but may struggle to afford support. Sessions are available at our centres in Chelmsford, Basildon and Brentwood.

To find out more please contact Renew via info@renew.org.uk or calling 01245 359 353, mentioning our bursary when you get in touch.

Who can use this service?
