The George Hurd Activity Centre
The George Hurd Activity Centre is a lively, friendly and bustling daytime venue for the new town's older generation to meet and socialise in the very heart of Basildon. We host various activities, including crafts, fitness and dance classes. We have a snooker room, lounge and dining room and a hairdresser visits on Mondays and Fridays. Membership is open to anyone over 50. Membership fees apply. Specialised transport can be arranged.
We hold regular entertainment events and organise numerous day trips per year, including shopping trips and London shows. Membership fee is £52 per year for Basildon residents and £54 for non-Basildon residents.
