Community Agents is a free to access home visiting service, helping people to live independently in their own home. We can help anybody over the age of 18 that is in particular need of a home visit in order to source the support needed. Community Agents are part of the Essex Wellbeing Service.

If you're an Essex resident you can turn to us for help with quitting smoking; managing your weight and/or your child’s; becoming a volunteer; gaining support with social isolation, and making long-term friendships.We'll also cover some of the areas that contribute towards these lifestyle changes, such as alcohol consumption, physical activity, healthy eating, and mental health.Through the delivery of NHS Health Checks, we also help to identify early signs of poor health and identify lifestyle changes required.

Essex Pedal Power is a community-based cycling project in Basildon that provides free high-quality bikes to residents, along with a helmet, lock, pump, and lights. Every eligible applicant has free access to training through learn to ride, cycle confidence, and bike maintenance sessions and the opportunity to take part in social bike rides. The EPP Basildon team work closely with local partners to support people experiencing significant barriers to cycling, by providing them with a bike and other services.

Hearing Help Essex

A quarter of a million people in Essex have some degree of hearing loss, nationally that amounts to one in six of the population. Hearing Help Essex exists to alleviate the isolation and loneliness that hearing loss can bring. We work with those who have acquired hearing loss, by offering practical help, support, advice and guidance. We work very closely with the audiology departments of Broomfield, Basildon, Colchester, Epping, Harlow, Addenbrookes, and Southend Hospitals, who recognise the value of our work and refer clients to us.
