Community Agents is a free to access home visiting service, helping people to live independently in their own home. We can help anybody over the age of 18 that is in particular need of a home visit in order to source the support needed. Community Agents are part of the Essex Wellbeing Service.
If you find yourself in need of some help, you can claim from the 1 April 2026 if you need help to establish in the community after a period of unsettlement, or you need help to remain in the community rather than enter into unsettlement.
If you're an Essex resident you can turn to us for help with quitting smoking; managing your weight and/or your child’s; becoming a volunteer; gaining support with social isolation, and making long-term friendships.We'll also cover some of the areas that contribute towards these lifestyle changes, such as alcohol consumption, physical activity, healthy eating, and mental health.Through the delivery of NHS Health Checks, we also help to identify early signs of poor health and identify lifestyle changes required.

NHS Basildon & Brentwood Talking Therapies can be provided via secure video, text-based therapy, webinar, phone or face to face - either one to one or in a group.
Essex Outreach service offers free, short term help to people aged 16 or over who need support around their Housing.We can help with a range of different things such as; Benefits, Employment, Housing, Homelessness, Substance misue, Managing money and budgeting, Health and well-being
You’re entitled to free help from a Jobcentre workcoach if you’re unemployed and looking for work or seeking to increase household income. Get support from Jobcentre Plus to help you prepare for, find and stay in work, including training, guidance and work placement programmes, work experience and volunteering.

We provide emotional support and practical advice to anyone affected by a crime. Our CYP team provide direct support to children aged 4-17. Our adult team can provide support to anyone over 18. We can support if the incident is in the past and if its been reported to Police or not.

Essex Pedal Power is a community-based cycling project in Basildon that provides free high-quality bikes to residents, along with a helmet, lock, pump, and lights. Every eligible applicant has free access to training through learn to ride, cycle confidence, and bike maintenance sessions and the opportunity to take part in social bike rides. The EPP Basildon team work closely with local partners to support people experiencing significant barriers to cycling, by providing them with a bike and other services.
A range of free weight management services for adults registered with a GP surgery in Essex. Our programmes are designed to promote safe weight loss of between 0.5-1 kg (1-2lb) a week. Introducing steps one week at a time to help build the tools that will enable confident use for continued weight loss. We believe in helping people to #LoseWeightHappily. This consists of positive, motivational and educational solutions to help you lose weight for good. We know losing weight can be difficult, emotional and testing, so we’re here to help.

Better Housing Better Health is a free service, working to help residents living in, or at risk of living in fuel poverty to access free advice and support. All residents experiencing issues with their home energy can access our service - we have a free helpline where our team can give valuable tips on how to stay warm at home, provide financial help for pre-payment meters and small emergency items, as well as help with funding for energy efficiency measures such as insulation and new heating.

The Autism Navigation Service: Supporting adults seeking an assessment of Autism, helping them to engage in the process and ensuring their voice is heard. When waiting for a diagnosis we work in partnership with them to help resolve any challenges they may be experiencing in their day to day lives. Ability Before Disability: Gathering the views of people with an experience of disability. Offering opportunities to work alongside professionals and Essex County Council sharing your experiences, to meet peers, and develop the skills of self advocacy.

Futures Together is a Multiple and Complex Needs service that provides holistic, person-centred support to individuals in current contact with the criminal justice system, who have a range of multiple and complex needs. This includes making onward referrals and signposting to services; accompanying clients to appointments; and advocating on behalf of clients. Futures Together also provides a Social Inclusion service that supports people with substance/alcohol misuse and/or mental ill health through a range of peer-led, meaningful activities for people to engage in (no criminal justice involvement needed for this).
A quarter of a million people in Essex have some degree of hearing loss, nationally that amounts to one in six of the population. Hearing Help Essex exists to alleviate the isolation and loneliness that hearing loss can bring. We work with those who have acquired hearing loss, by offering practical help, support, advice and guidance. We work very closely with the audiology departments of Broomfield, Basildon, Colchester, Epping, Harlow, Addenbrookes, and Southend Hospitals, who recognise the value of our work and refer clients to us.
